Why I Work with Recovery

This all is created from my personal highs and lows. I have a neurological disease for which I have received medical treatment since age 6. At that same age I won the only thing I ever won. I won the church’s Easter egg hunt and the prize was a bunny rabbit I named hopscotch. He was my first pet. I grew up on a farm so it was easy to keep him. He lived a long life in one of our chicken coops. Ever since then I have always had an affection for bunny rabbits and they’ve been the subject of many art projects.

Despite my medical issues, I have had unbelievably great results in my life through art. All my issues seemed to fade into the background whenever I was being creative. I have had my childhood dreams come true and I have lost everything at the same time. I have rebuilt my life and watched it crumble again. These events led me to start Bunny’s Tales by using the exact process I teach in my classes to write a book of poetry and art called Trials Love & Dreams. I have the book published and available on Amazon and Book Baby, which again is a dream come true.

Bunny’s Tales is not a vehicle to promote my book. It is an example of how this creative process can inspire something special as the result of difficulties. My class is created to help people turn their highs and lows into a creative expression that gives them something fun they can do anytime, anywhere.
