Rhyme & Drawing

The classes are developed to be fun and lighthearted for all ages. Whether it is a child, teen or adult, the class is the same. The classes are the same if someone is challenged with issues in school, at home, psychological, substance abuse or just life. The classes are the same if it is just for a fun brain game.

The process of writing a poem is made very simple through basic steps that resemble a nursery rhythm. The poems are always coupled with a simple drawing that relates to the rhyme. The drawings are very simple to make. We begin with stick figures and a word. Step by step we make puzzle pieces that all come together.

I use technology to help people understand the things I was taught in art school. We look up pictures of the things they are thinking about. We use the images we find as a guide to find each person’s unique expression of the things they are inspired to draw and paint. Painting and drawing is made easier and fun.

My teaching method for creative writing engages all the aspects of people’s thinking. The lesson is similar to the lessons of the STEM method, but it goes a little further to engage creativity. People leave with an understanding of how to create meaningful writing that’s fun and easy to do anytime, anywhere.
